It's been a very long time since I have posted,but life got in the way.However, it's not stopped me reading, a bit too much sometimes (how to be late for work with unfailing regularity? get your nose stuck in a good book!)
The latest I'm reading is "Life In A Cold Climate" by Laura Thompson, an extremely interesting life of Nancy Mitford, author of "Love in a Cold Climate" & "The Pursuit of Love" amongst others.
The author goes into Nancy's life in detail and is often at variance with other biographers and Nancy's sisters a lot of the time, but she still manages to evoke a very clear sense of the times.
Of course I now have to turn around and re-read LIACC and POL, such a hardship.
Reviews of the book have been very mixed, it appears you either love it or hate it, there doesn't seem to be any middle ground.
As this is the first bio of Nancy Mitford I've read, I have thoroughly enjoyed it,but I have managed to find another ,"Nancy Mitford" by Harold Acton, so it will be very interesting to compare.
